Perth City CBD is only 25 minutes drive from our park or approximately 45 minutes by bus and train. We have a bus stopping right outside the park which will take you directly to the Midland Train station, where you can catch the Midland train line to the city.

Perth is a beautiful city located along the banks of the Swan River. There is lots to do and see in the city including Kings Park, Elizabeth Quay, Perth Bell Tower, Perth Mint and the Perth Zoo just to name a few.

Perth also offers some amazing beaches including Cottesloe Beach, Scarborough beach, Brighton Beach and City Beach. These are definitely worth a visit on a warm summer’s day.

Kings Park and Botanic Gardens

Kings Park is one of the world’s largest and most beautiful inner city parks.

Kings Park is home to the spectacular Western Australian Botanic Garden, which displays over 3,000 species of the State’s unique flora. Two thirds of the 400 hectare park is protected as bushland and provides a haven for native biological diversity.

Kings park offers fantastic views over the city, rivers and hills. A variety of bush walk trails, immaculate gardens and parklands, eateries, BBQ facilities and multiple playground areas throughout and for those in search of some action, climb the DNA Tower.

Elizabeth Quay

Elizabeth Quay is an exciting new waterfront precinct on the banks of the Swan River.

Within the Quay you will find the island playground, the BHP Billiton Water Park, public artwork, promenades, open spaces and a range of bars and restaurants.

The quay is easily accessible by public transport with the Elizabeth Quay Train and Bus Port a short stroll away. The Transperth Ferry terminal is located in the inlet and the free blue CAT bus stops near the Bell Tower.

A range of scenic river cruises sail tourists and locals from Barrack Street Jetty to the Swan Valley, Fremantle and Rottnest Island.

The Swan Valley

Just 15 minutes from our park will have you in the centre of the Swan Valley, with so much to see and do and lots of gourmet delights along the way. The Swan Valley offers wineries, breweries, chocolate factory, nougat factory, honey, walking, cycling, golf, mazes, animals and more.

A fantastic new addition to the Swan Valley is the Swan Valley Hop On Hop Off which departs from Guildford train station, which is just 10 minutes from the Park. A full loop takes 1.5 hours and allows you to hop on and off as many times as you like and is valid for the entire day.

Midland is a commercial and retail hub full of shopping and entertainment. Within the Midland gate shopping centre you will find the Ace Cinemas with Gold Lounge, Timezone, Big W, Kmart, Target, grocery shopping and a wide array of speciality stores. So, if you want to immerse yourself in a day of shopping, Midland is the perfect place to do so.
The new historical hub of Midland is based around Railway Square, with the Midland Workshops at its heart. These are 19th century buildings that have and undergone restoration to provide for a new urban village with already a handful of eateries, with more to come.
Midland is only a 5 minute drive from the park, alternatively catch the 294 or th 297 from the bus stop located at our doorstep which will take you to the Midland Train Station. If you want to immerse yourself in a day of shopping, or take in some history and a stroll, it’s definitely worth a visit.

The Bickley Valley is a picturesque region known for its wineries, ciders, vineyards, orchards and the forest beyond. There is a vast array of activities to do in and around Kalamunda, and something for everyone. Within the town you will find the zig zag cultural centre, zig zag art gallery, Kalamunda Visitors centre, Kalamunda History Village, Stirk Park and a variety of specialty stores, cafes and restaurants.

Kalamunda is also home to weekly and monthly markets including a fresh produce market every Sunday, Night Markets from October to April (usually every 4 weeks on a Friday night) and Rotary’s popular Artisan markets on the 1st Saturday of every month.

Kalamunda is an ideal location for bush walking, bike riding and scenic drives. Just 7km for our park is the Zig Zag Walk trail boasting spectacular city views and amazing wildflowers. This 3km crazy walk/cycle or drive trail will have you zigging and zagging down the hill in no time.  Just 12km away is the John Forrest National Park which is one of Perth’s oldest conservation areas and home to over 500 species of spectacular wildflowers. Other nearby hotspots include Jorgensen Park, Lesmurdie Falls (north side), Whistle pipe Gully, Hills Street, Kalamunda National Park (Schipp Rd and Spring Road entrance), Lesmurdie Falls National Park and Lions Lookout.  A little further afield is Ellis Brook Valley in Martin (19km) with more than 550 varieties of wildflowers and with walk trails to suit all abilities. We are 18km to Perth’s newest stadium, located on the banks of the swan river, and surrounded by parklands, public art, dining options and recreational facilities. With a bus service located at our doorstep, travelling to the stadium has never been easier. Take the 297 from the park to Midland train station, where you can catch a Perth bound train to East Perth Station, and walk the remainder of the way to the Stadium.
